We have exciting news! Hand & Stone Massage and Franchise Spa is now in Atlanta and Minneapolis – St. Paul with ground floor franchising opportunities for potential owners. We’re opening several new spas throughout each city. One of our new locations is opening up this month in Atlanta, and we couldn’t be more excited! (And we just can’t hide it.)
Hand & Stone’s newest Atlanta franchisee, Morven Groves, is no stranger to the business of franchising. Groves is a Harvard University graduate from Glasgow, Scotland with franchise consulting and global business management experience.
Groves’ brand new Hand & Stone spa is in the Peachtree Station shopping center in Chamblee, Georgia, and the location is the fourth spa in the Atlanta market and entire state. Groves carefully considered several different concepts for franchises before deciding on Hand & Stone.
“As I looked at a number of different franchise concepts, Hand & Stone struck me as both a strong value proposition to consumers and an attractive business from an owner’s perspective. It’s something where I felt like I’d really be doing good in the community,” Groves said.
Now a small business owner in her hometown of Atlanta, Groves is helping her community as a job creator and by offering health and wellness services to busy locals.
She was drawn to the economic potential of Hand & Stone’s membership model that has several different revenue streams including gift cards and facials. Groves also liked the idea of being able to expand with more locations once her first Hand & Stone franchise took off.
“I was interested first and foremost in markets that I was familiar with. I also wanted an opportunity that would allow me to grow with subsequent units if I chose to do so. Hand & Stone has those qualities,” Groves said of her search for the best franchise to invest in.
Franchise Business Opportunities Are Booming Along with Population Size
It couldn’t be a better time to buy a franchise in Atlanta and Minneapolis – St. Paul. These two specific local markets are overflowing with consumers thanks to strong recent population booms.
Atlanta’s population increased to 5.8 million growing by 1.6% from 2015 to 2016, according to the U.S. Census. Along with a population increase, job growth has been strong. The Atlanta area added 77,000 jobs in 2016. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Atlanta Regional Commission reports that Atlanta added 90,650 new residents in 2016, putting it in fourth place for growth.
Minneapolis – St. Paul
Minneapolis added a total of 37,374 people for a percentage growth of 9.8% from 382,578 in 2010 to 419,952 in 2016 (Metropolitan Council). In St. Paul, the city had an addition of 19,374 people between 2010 and 2016 for a 6.8% increase in population from 285,068 to 304,442 people.
